On 30 March 2025, the new changes were made to the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007 to clarify who can and cannot submit immigration applications. This change has partly been spurred by unlicensed and non-exempt people applying for visas for others, usually for a profit. These applications will now be declined, often automatically, and no refunds will be provided by Immigration New Zealand.
